isociety academic meetings

Hello everyone,
for those of you who are unable to attend meetings but are interested in what we discuss, a brief summary of content covered will be posted here.

January 14, 2010
The purpose of this meeting was to introduce and discuss the goals of this group over the coming semester. They are as follows:
1. Provide feedback to professors to improve the isci experience. The best method of feedback remains to be determined
2. Organize events related to academics. Specifically: CAPArties, content review sessions, and study method sessions
3. Prepare for the beginning of next year. This inclueds welcome week, a buddy system, helping 1st years cope and survive bootcamp
4. Promote isci to the world. Although this is primarly communication's jurisdiction, most questions will be academic in nature so concern us as well

Our next meeting will be January 25 at 1:00.
We plan to develop specific feedback criteria and questions and possibly delegate roles among the group. We hope to see as many of you as possible there.

During our meeting on January 25, we planned a feedback session to take place on Tuesday February second. We chose topics of feedback and people to facilitate discussion and take notes. The next meeting will be on Monday, February 1st at 1:00 pm in istudy.

During our February 1 meeting, we discussed the feedback session and midterm review sessions. There is no schedule meeting between now and reading week.

The feedback session on Tuesday the 2 went very well. Thank-you to everybody for your participating and we will work on achieving tangible results from your input.
