SOLAR Problem Empty
PostSubject: SOLAR Problem   SOLAR Problem EmptySun Jun 27, 2010 3:52 pm

Hey everyone:
I have a question and hopefully someone can answer it.
So I just registered my courses and finished SOLAR, but unfortunately the elective that i wanted to do for term 1, was Classic 1B03, but it was full. Not knowing what to do I registered for another elective for term one so I would have the 30 units. Can I change my course later on if someone drops Classics 1B03? Also how would I find out if someone would drop the course?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can change your course later if someone drops Classics 1B03. Just keep checking SOLAR! It remains open to you for seven days from when you started your registration, so keep checking back every day, multiple times per day. I've heard a rumour that around 3:00am is a good time to grab course openings, haha. Once SOLAR closes, it will reopen later in July, and then you can start trying to get a spot again. And if all of that fails, you still have a week or so once classes start in September to add/drop courses.

Don't worry - although not guaranteed, you probably have a good chance of getting a seat in that course eventually. I hope that helps!

personally I would take philosophy 1D03, I wanted to take it, but it was unavailable last year (scheduling conflict), but it is really up to you. I would say judge your own reaction to me saying philosophy over classics to make your decision, or you can flip a coin, what ever you hope for, take. this never works for me, but maybe it will work for you. good luck.

Hey Guys, I was in classics last year and I liked it alot. The prof is a really good lecturer, and its a good break from science! The midterm was ok just a bit long, but the final was waayy easy. I think like 10-20 percent of your mark is tutorial participation which makes for some easy marks lol. There's one essay which is a pretty straightforward thing to do.

hope that helps for anybody tryin to decide!

And also, i had trouble getting into classics, but then it magically opened up and i got in, so don't give up yet!
