Funny question, but my parents want me to find out how easy it would be to transfer to another university if I was in iSci, say if we had a family crisis or something and I needed to be closer to home. I know a handful of people have left iSci...but did they just switch into a different Mac program or were they able to get credit somewhere else?

Hey Josi,

It will be very difficult to switch mid-year, as iSci is a full-year course. You will not get full credits, though in extreme circumstances you may get some equivalencies.

This being said, most students leaving iSci have switched to other programs that better suit their learning style or interests (such as Health Science, specialized programs within the Life Sciences, Physics, Math) -- in many instances it is the case where the student feels they are better fit to specialize. And this is done with close to no problems if done after a full year and not mid-year, at least within programs in the sciences. There have been cases where students have left to other programs, but this has been slightly more problematic (a case that is common in switching between universities in general -- and is not a problem unique to iSci).
