First weeks of iSci... Empty
PostSubject: First weeks of iSci...   First weeks of iSci... EmptyFri Jul 01, 2011 4:39 pm

Hi Everyone! I have a question about the first couple weeks of iSci. I know that we don't start the first project until a couple weeks in and I think I heard that the first couple weeks are sort of a review and to get people on the same page. So my question is what exactly do those first weeks consist of and what should we expect? (this is probably for the upper years Wink )

I'm not sure if they still call it boot camp but back in the old days (when the 3rd years were in 1st year) that was what it was called where it was just intensive mostly content based lectures as opposed to lectures based on project topics. It might be review for some students and it might be entirely new for others depending on your high school experiences.

Okay, thanks!

If the name used to be 'boot camp' does that mean it's pretty brutal or just is introducing you to university workload? (or is it a combo of both?)

It's pretty tough Smile, but they lightened it up for last years first years and i'm sure you guys will be fine. and I think it's just tougher because you have to get used to the university students' lifestyle too
