Go to caseypark.com
watch the video. around 2:00 he says anything is possible, like getting into iSci.
I think he lost my vote as MSU prez.

Also, lots of other programs despise iSci on principle.
THE TIME HAS COME FOR CONQUEST!!
I mean..errhem. Why do you think everybody hates us so much?

Mentioning us in the video was stupid. For those who know who we are, they don't care. For those who don't. they are confused. For us in iSci, we're wondering what the point of it was. Is he that desperate to try to get our small number of 39 votes?

it also didn't rhyme.

As for the real question, I'd say its because people feel that, especially as first year students, we don't deserve the stuff that we've gotten (like 3rd Thode, and all the time with our profs).

Upper years never had the chance to be in iSci, and now they see it as us stealing a bunch of their space and resources.

Many of us tend to stick with our own "kind" (by "kind" I mean other iScis). People may not know the work we have or the other "sacrifices" (if you wanted to call them that) that are involved in being in the program. (i.e. uncertainty about future years, kinda being guinea pigs, having a lot of work, etc.)

It won't be a problem once we are established and have several years of students that are used to our presence.

They may also be pissed cause we pwn'd at Math Wars (good job Judy and Yohan!)

Statistically, iSci is not the hardest program at Mac to get in to. Health Sci is harder, and I would guess ArtSci is difficult as well.

I just found that the comment didn't make much sense.

I also wasn't a big fan of the video. It seemed uncharacteristic of Mac to bash other universities. But thats just my opinion.

I'm not really a fan of the video. I don't think that the lyrics bashed iSci in any way, but I still didn't find it a good representation of Mac. These Mac videos I really like (and yes, I know its from Health Sci):

haha i talked to my roommate about it (he's on his campaign team), and he did say that it gives us publicity.

and i'm not too sure if that was said negatively. "like getting into isci, anything is possible"... In the original lyrics it quotes Kevin Garnett, which is what he says after he won the championship, almost in a sense that "if you work hard, do you best, then anything is possible"

So don't know if it's a diss or not.

But based on other reasons I am not voting Casey, however, I should implore all of you to vote!!!!!

^ i don't think it was meant negatively. No candidate would be that stupid to paint Mac's most defenseless program.

In an election, every move can and will be taken seriously, and usually questioned. That's why when I see a pure PR stunt that doesn't include anything about a candidate's platform, I question what was going on in their minds.
