I tried to do my course selection, but it says I don't have the prereq's for ISCI 2A18, EARTH SCI 2GI3, or CHEM 2OA3.
Anyone experience similar problems?

Same, apparently I failed the requisites required for ISCI 2A18 but I checked my transcript and I evidently didn't fail. I haven't tried my other courses yet because after staying up until 1am then giving up, I tried to log on to SOLAR this morning and now everything is full.

I just love course selection. SOLAR issues Icon_mad

Yeah, same here, it says my required requisites failed for ISCI 2A18. And I got in to SOLAR at 1:30 and a bunch of psych courses were already full too. I'm pretty sure I need one of them, so I'm going to have to talk to Sarah about that too. Sigh.

Yeah, everyone's been having these problems.

We had a giant MSN conversation last night, and it seemed like these SOLAR issues were across the board.

I've talked to Carolyn, Luc, and Sarah R this morning, and they are all aware of this problem as well.

Sarah is working on this, and she has contacted the Associate Dean. Apparently, there is some mix up somewhere down the line, but the requisites problem should be resolved later today.

I have made another discussion, where we can post the course codes that are causing trouble for people.

Prateek - any word on what to do if courses that we need for our concentration are full, besides emailing Sarah to let her know?

If you need it for your concentration you will get in, but it sucks that it's full for now.

Firstly, yeah, put the ball in Sarah's hand, because she can do things that we would not otherwise be able to do, and she's working in all of our best interests

The only "real" solution I've heard other than that is to a) check SOLAR maybe once per day to see if a spot opens up, b) if things don't open up, continue to shadow the course (go to it during the first two weeks)... apparently people tend to drop courses often especially in sciences so a spot should open up, and c) maybe in a couple of days after you hear official word from Sarah, send an e-mail to the prof(s), (it is very likely Sarah will do this on behalf of all psych people so just wait a bit), and hopefully they'll be nice enough to open up a couple of extra seats in this circumstance.

Sorry, no easy solution... the only concentration I hear this happening for currently is PNB, and I will try to monitor this situation with Sarah to see if a resolution is seen, and will post details here as well as an e-mail to Krista and Rachel (I think you two are the only ones this concerns).

Post all codes in the "Global announcement: Official Solar Issues" so we can all work together and look out for those codes whenever we go onto SOLAR for openings.

I'm also in PNB and can't get into some required courses, so I'll also have to talk to Sarah - if you're emailing Krista and Rachel that would be great if you could send one my way too Prateek, thanks.

hey julianne, hmm, i haven't heard about technical errors happening.

if i were you, i'd first try from a different web browser (alternate between firefox, chrome, and internet explorer)... for example when i was trying to get on last night i kept on clicking on each browser, and i managed to get on a bit quicker.

if this doesn't work, try different computers... yeah, most problems are fixed (although there are still a few), so once you get on it should be good.

also, carolyn recommends to check your outstanding fines, because that might lock you out of the server.

post an update here if you get it resolved or if you're still experiencing problems, as others might have the same concerns.
